The newer V6's are being built with the 9.25".

This is a rather dated example BUT, Dakota's '98 and my '99 were set up
identically with one exception - he has a stick, I had an auto. He has
the 9.25, I had the 8.25.

My QC has a manual, the 9.25 rear end and no tow package. I think it's
all based on how much power you're capable of sending to the driveshaft
(combination of tranny & engine).
