Sorry Mike, but my QC gets *much* better mileage than my '99 CC did,
which was set up very similarly to yours. Even being heavier and having
lower gears. The stick helps though.

For occasional towing, a Roadmaster setup is probably enough, and dead
simple to install. Bags are a bit extreme if you're towing all the
time, and an add-a-leaf will likely make life rough in the city. A
weight-distributing setup is good as long as you have the whole system.
