Re: Routing around Chicago

I just made the mistake of going through Chicago from Columbus to Madison.
What was supposed to be an eight hour trip turned into twelve. I thought I
was going to avoid problems by taking I-290 and I-294 around but still ran
into construction. On the way back I went around Chicago by going down
I-39 into Illinois and saved a lot of time.

I would suggest to your parents that they take US 30 to I-39 (I know they
may run into some slowdowns by going through all of the towns) or by
jumping on I-80 and taking it to I-39. The only problem that they might
run into is the merge with I-65. There is some construction there and up
to I-294 which is where I just started having my problems.
