You do not need FM in a non trac-locking rear. Just fill'er up with 4.4pt
of your preferred oil.

I don't see the age of the oil being a problem. A synthetic won't get acidic

like a conventional oil. Is a friction modifier required in the 8.25,3.5:1
standard rearend? The FSM says only for the sure-grip rearend.
