Shortly after I got my 2k I felt the headlighting was weak too so I
replaced the stock bulbs with one of several opetions J C Whitney has been selling
for years giving 80w on lo beam and 100w on hi. You can get them in a color
that is almost identical to stock bulbs or that garish blue/white BMW-style
beam. I took the plain and they definitely improve the light pattern intensity.
There are fog light bulb replacements available too but I've never changed
mine. The 80/100 bulbs have worked fine without any modifications to my
headlighting circuit such as a different switch, added relay, heavier wiring,
modified connector, etc and I've had them in use now for 3+yrs and 45k mi
