Earlier this year GM decided to not renew their deals with New Venture
Gear. Today it was announced that DC will be giving up part of their
stake in the operation and selling to Magna Steyr. DC keeps 38%, MS
gets 62%.

On the up side, the almost 4000 local employees of NVG will keep their
jobs. Which is good, because my employer announced today that we're
being acquired, and some of the other stuff I hear on the grapevine
point to things being significantly cut or shut down entirely. That's
over 1000 jobs.
