i recently had a problem with spark jumping to ground. i had bought some
8.5 mm MSD wires. well when i got them one of the boots on one of the wires
had a small hole in it. the spark was jumping through that hole and hitting
the little heatshields for the plugs and every time it happened it was VERY
loud. but as you said, it was causing it to miss and genrally only happened
during idle.
