no overdrive

I've experienced an on and off problem lately with my 92 4x4 5.2 auto.No
overdrive, and it seems to be getting more frequent. I pulled a code 15 for
speed sensor problem. Today when it happened I tried the cruise control and it
did not engage. My question is, should I just replace the sensor or could it be
the wiring? Thanks
