will the displacement on demand be an option, or standard equipment starting
in 05??? if it's standard, i better get myself a HEMI this year!

Yup...and it doesn't just shut off one cylinder at a time either - the
lifters are attached in a set of four via a "keeper" (for better
explanation). Solenoid disengages the lifter "pack" and ya loose a
cylinder (and there's talk of dropping it from a 8 to 4 cylinder for
fuel economy).

I'll stick to the standard 5.7L with the Mopar goodies instead. :)

That's the "cylinder on demand" setup, I believe, where you usually
cruise about on half an engine and only activate the other cylinders
when you need the extra power.

I'll take one of those diesel locomotive Cummins hybrids when they come
out instead, thanks ;-).
