I had the same experience with Mobil One. I contacted them about it and
found it did not have the anti drain back valve. They are the people that
told me their filter was produced by Champion. I only use K&N as well.

Tried a multitude of different oil filters...most of them had that annoying,

initial morning start-up "Tap Tap Tap". the only two that don't are the
factory mopar and the K&N.

(yes...even the Mobil-1 filter caused the noise)
