I don't know the exact details (perhaps someone more familiar
with Mopar's part number formula can shed a better light on it)
but essentially it is a revision number. Many Mopar part numbers
will have this two letter designation after them. As I understand
it, this signifies that the part has undergone some sort of revision.
I think it starts at AA, so originally the part number would
have been 55174826, then they made some sort of change at it
became 55174826AA, they made another change and it became 55174826AB,
then another change at some point and it became 55174826AC, which
is apparently the point it is at now, so the AC version would be
the most up-to-date version.
This is the impression I have come away with anyway, based on
conversations with people behind Mopar parts counters.
