It shouldn't be as hard as you think. I don't know how different the
Durango dash is from the Dakota, but I have the 03 style. Just from memory
you first take off the bolster under the steering wheel. I think that's
only two screws. Then you drop the two phillips head screws out from just
above the dials. The rest are metal clips. The only tricky part is pulling
out from behind the steering wheel. Once you get it loose, you reach behind
the panel and pull some plugs off the back. I found the headlight plug a
pain to get undone so I left it in and just gently placed the dash aside so
I could access the stereo. I think it took me about a half hour to install
my stereo in my 03. I spliced all my wires before hand in the wire harness.
I you can get a harness and mounting kit from any local shop.
