eh, what the hell:
NOTE: hp #s at 5500 RMP are assuming that the second listing of numbers at
5000 RMP in the mag's table were the fault of a typo. in the published
tabe two numbers are listed for every setup at 5000 RPM, and the next is at
6 grand. it follows for me, and the numbers look right, so that's what I'm
going with. also, for the record, stock cam is .278 gross duration,
.495/.480 lift.
baseline was hooker headers (2-1/8") with a Holley 950hp carb and an
electric water pump. jets were both 82, timing was best at 33deg:
RMP TQ HP
3500 492 328
3800 500
4000 495 377
4500 480 411
5000 480 457
5400 467
5500 464 486
5700 494
6000 425 485
6300
6500 425
why you'd measure TQ and not HP at a top-end RPM doesn't make much sense....
first mod was a roller cam (Crane PowerMax SR-254/374-2S-12 : .304/.312
gross duration, .254/.262 duration at .050, .587/.568 lift), lifters and
pushrods. used a 975 Race Demon carb since some bowtie lovers "borrowed"
the Holly 950:
RMP TQ HP
3500 508 339
3800 505
4000 510 388
4500 499 427
5000 489 465
5400 487
5500 485 508
5700 519
6000 465 531
6300 534
6500 479 526
6600 520
6900 518
finally, the dual plane stock intake was replaced with a single plane
Barton 4bbl and the carb swapped to a 995 King Demon:
RMP TQ HP
3500 467 311
3800 468
4000 476 362
4500 479 410
5000 496 472
5400 516
5500 515 539
5700 548
6000 502 574
6300 591
6500 467 593
6600 594
6900 590
They also threw on some big tube headers and knocked all the numbers back
about 20% while moving the curves up the RPM range dramatically. I'm not
going to bother typing that in, just don't install 2.25" headers on this
motor NA.
just for good measure, again:

buy your obscenely priced monster here:
<https://www.jimsautoparts.com/engineassy.htm>
or anywhere else you might like to. FWIW, I think my RamCharger is keeping
it's 360 for a good long while at those prices.... =)
