Not dumb at all.
If you are comparing V6 to V8 and the displacement is the same there is
probably little difference in performance but the 8 should run smoother and
might last longer. On the other hand if you compare a straight 6 to a V8 of
the same displacement the V8 will probably make more horsepower due to
better fuel disbribution but the straight 6 engine may deliver more low rpm
torque than the V8. Intake and exhaust manifolds on straight 6 engines
usually do not flow as good as V block manifolds do. Does this help any?
