Wait a sec... You should *never* raise the front of your truck by either
halfshaft. (i'm assuming you have a 4x4) You can put a stand under the
control arms though. As far as jacking by the axle goes, the dakota only
has a solid axle in the rear, and that is an excellent place to place a
jackstand.
