It's not messy at all. Comes out of a tube rather smooth and comes apart
(when changing the bulb) easy as well. We do this on the older Rams at the
dealership (saves the $10 and labor on changing the seal - works well).

but that's *really* messy. I think i'll stick to silicone instead thank you
very much. I like the idea of not having everything (mainly my hands and
the paint around the lens) becoming gooey when I have to change the bulb
next.
