I learned about the cost of front end damage in a parking lot bump the hardway!
:-(

My wife was sitting in line at Dunkin Donuts and let her foot slip off the
brake pedal of our 03 PT Cruiser while she was looking for change in her purse.
The Cruiser rolled forward into a pickup in front of her. The truck was a 4x4
dually, the bumper was higher than the cruisers bumper so the receiver went
over the bumper and hit the edge of the fender right at the junction of the
grill. Outwardly there was about a 2" high by 1" wide by 1/2" deep dent in the
fender and that side of the grill was loose, no damage to the pick-up.

I contemplated not reporting it to the insurance and just fixing it my self but
the next day I realized fluid was leaking from the raditor so I took it to the
body shop to have it looked at. When it was all said and done the insurance
company paid out $5200. The grill, bumper cover, fender, tranny cooler, AC
condensor, radiator and electric fan assembly were all replaced with new parts.
The grill, bumper cover and fender were refinished. The hood, drivers door and
the passenger fender were partly refinished (the new paint was feathered into
the panels and the panel was re-clear coated. It could have been repaired at
the body shop for 1/4 of the final bill if I had been paying out of pocket but
the insurance adjuster had directed the body shop to replace all the parts.

Needless to say I have a stash of perfectly usable parts for an 03 turbo PT
Cruiser now.
