My clunk actually sounds like a good-sized rock hitting the
floorpan -- I can most times feel it in my heels as much as
hearing it. I'm stone deaf in one ear though -- I can't tell
which direction sounds are coming from.

The sound doesn't go away, and I'm not even sure it comes from
the cat. I hear it when I'm cornering on bumpy surfaces, so I
suspect the cab mounts or something else mechanical. I haven't
gotten on my back under the thing yet, but from the side, I'll
be darned if I can see anything loose or flopping around.
