Welding on computer equipped vehicles ?

Thanks to all those who responded with advice on this topic, for the 5
seconds that it takes to disconnect the battery, I did it just in case.
Mind you the dude welding my new muffler in looked at me as if I had 2 heads
when I told him about it. He said he's never heard of it and never had a
problem before. Oh well better safe than sorry :-)
