I can't speak to the latest models, but Gen IIIs from the previous
century have two metal tabs bent down below the bottom edge of the
bumper. The tabs have 3/8" diameter holes.
I wouldn't want to see them suddenly "take the load" in the event of a
hitch failure but chains could be hooked in there.
