To do so seems kind of ridiculous, and like something that would end
up driving the price of new pads up to compensate. Pads wear out.
They aren't covered by your factory warranty, so I don't see why
they'd be covered by the aftermarket parts manufacturer either.
Honestly, I'm not sure why the shock manufacturers do it. Seems like
it's probably a marketing gimmick and they figure that most people
aren't keeping their cars long enough to care anymore.
I don't expect wear parts to be covered by a warranty. It's just a
pleasant surprise when they are.
