Engine mounts and engine rocking.

DMLers:

How can you tell if your engine mounts are good? Is there a simple test?

How do you know when you engine is rocking too far under torque?
Mine is moving so far that the idler pulley is rubbing on the coolant resevoir
bottle. Now i have big gash in the coolant bottle. :( When the engine is idling
theres like 1" to 1 1/4" between them. So my engine must be rocking that far.

Any help in understanding whats o.k. and whats not right with this would be
appreciated.
