On my 99 CC, I took off the steering wheel cover and found that the bulb and
wiring there.I found one wire was not connected by the factory in the mini
pin connecter. I spliced onto the bulb wires and ran the thin gage wire
down the column and again spliced onto the drivers side courtesy light. Now
the Halo lights when the door is opened and then fades out with my foot
lights. The light is a low watt green glow that does help in finding the key
hole at night time.

Honestly, I'm not sure about '01 and up, I have it in mine - I think. It's
the clear ring around the ignition. The one in my wife's Intrepid lights up
when the door is opened and closed and remains lit for 10 or 15 seconds
after that. But that does bring up a good point: I'm assuming that the clear
ring is something more than decorative, a relic from when the ignition halo
lights were included and working. So I guess as an add-on to my question -
is the light actually present and how does one get it operational? Again,
sorry to bring back this whipped horse, but I am curious about it.
