Painting AC tubes/hoses

DML,

My '92 Dak had AC hoses with metal tubing at the end that were chipping and peeling. The
factory black paint that was on the metal tubes was coming off and it looked real bad.
So i used a industrial sized Dremel tool with a wire wheel and stripped it all off. (
just the metal tube part where it connects to the compressor )

So, i need the name of a good paint ( preferably black gloss ) that i can use to
re-paint the AC lines with. Should it be engine paint? Or can good paint work here?

oddly engough, the ends of the lines where they go into the firewall are in pretty good
condition. and i dont think i will strip those. they are gloss black.

p.s. should i shine them up somehow and leave the tubing unpainted?
