Aren't the air bags designed to work with the seatbelts? When I T-boned the
full sized van, I was wearing my seatbelt, and the air bag went off. With
all the adrenaline and other accident stuff going on, it took a second to
realize the reason I couldn't see - the airbag went off, and was deflating.
I was wearing glasses, with no ill effects from the air bag. Got away with
some bruising from the belt, and a rebuilt front end.

I'm glad the air bags in my Dak worked, as I'm sure I would have eaten some
steering wheel...
