is the 3.9's don't see any better mileage than the 5.2's in a club cab. On
a recent trip, my 97 CC SLT (with AC) managed to get just over 20mpg. Few
tips on what you can do:

this, plus the 5.2 really came alive from 3k RPM to redline

rest of my mods (rockers, intake manifold, headers, Carsound Cat) added up
to the last .5-1mpg. I've only seen the 20mpg once, and that's because I
babied it at 45-50 mph on a 4.5 hr trip (not a highway, but a road with
45mph speedlimit with only getting lights as you pass through small towns).
Also, my CC probably weighs 400-500lbs heavier then your 93 (4,380 with me
in it)

On my last trip to visit my parents (3½ hours away) I managed to get just
over 21mpg for the round trip. I tend to cruise at about 78mph, and have a
Cold Air tube, TB, catback, bedcover, and my truck is dropped 2/3. I found
that when I lowered the truck, I picked up a mpg or two, then picked up
another mpg or so when i put the bedcover on.

It is possible to get decent mileage with the 3.9L, you just have to keep
your foot out of it on the highway. I drove about 70 - 80 mph for most of
the way to/from the BBQ (from Chicago) and I averaged 23.7 mpg for the
entire trip, and my average speed was right around 72 mph. I think this
year for the BBQ, I might borrow my friend's GPS and see what my actuals
really are.
