1) remove and clean the sensor. It has a magnetic end that gets grungy.
It might solve the problem.

2) yes it will screw up the shift points

3) basic part. not sure if there are multiple numbers though. IF it is
the same as the 46RE sensor, Expect it to list for under $50.
