Seen a few problems with the late '03 / early '04 models and the cluster
going bad. Problem is easily fixed but does require a trip to the
dealership. Make sure the waterpump is in good condition though - not an
easy task and expensive if not under warranty.

Subject: DML: OT: PT Cruiser

My fiancee is looking for new (to her) car. She's seriously considering a
2001-2003 or so PT Cruiser. My question for the list is, does anyone here
have experience with one? Any major mechanical defects pop up in the last
couple of years? Basically, is it reliable? We are just out of college and
have little time/money to be fixing cars.

Dak content: My '04 is running great, minus the exceptional lack of
accelaration.
