Well, yesterday [Saturday] morning I got a call at about 8:30 in the
morning that my truck was ready to be picked up, and I was finally going
to be able to take some pics of the infamous torque converter.
First, the truck drives great now and the trans performs nice. I'm
really happy to have it back!
Second, here are the [unresized] pics of the converter that I took. In
the first one you can read the reman stamp so that clears up that issue.
They both show the vandalism really well though. I was told by the
guy who did the work that this was one of the worst examples of this
sort of thing he's ever seen. He told me that he's only seen one more
that was worse, and in that instance it was on a $15k restoration job,
someone had written "this car sucks" on the exhaust system.
