  One problem with that route though, is that you're not supposed
to tow with the advanced timing, and I believe the original poster
was looking to keep his low end due to needing to tow.
 
  Though I did tow 6,000lbs back from Carlisle one year and didn't
realize until I was 3/4 of the way home that I still had the MP
computer in there! :-) Fortunately, I didn't get any pinging -
probably the 180 t-stat and headers were able to keep it cool
enough to offset the advanced timing.
