hopefully if NAPA doesn't come through, CarQuest or Advance can find me
some pads with mounting springs on them too. Autozone was a bust, and
they definitely have mounting springs that should be there....
Tomorrow morning I'll find out if NAPA comes through. I can check with
Advance and CarQuest when I'm back in Rochester if I find bad news
tomorrow morning.
Oh well, at least I have plenty of time to take care of the last of the
RamCharger's maintenance instead of being distracted by putting the
front axle back together.
I also made a start on getting the front lug studs to match the rears.
I've got 10 out of 16 studs, and 13 out of 32 nuts that I need. Maybe
NAPA'll have the rest tomorrow morning (I forgot to ask when I was in
there about my brakes. that was a pretty braindead thing to forget
about since I can't put my rotors and hubs back together without all
the studs)
so now I'm going to pull the trans pan in the RamCharger and make a
start on swapping out it's cooked fluid, then start welding up my new
crossmember while the coolant cools so I can do my water pump.
Hopefully I'll finish my RamCharger maitenance and the crossmember
tonight, then I'll know about brakes (again!) tomorrow morning before I
head back up to Rochester. Gotta be back there for work at I think
1600, so I've got /plenty/ of time </famous last words> ;-)
also, I picked up a couple disposable cameras, if I hadn't mentioned
that already, so I can start documenting things myself.
adios!
