It is small resonator, it maybe lower sound note that DCx was trying to get from the engine.

I can see why they are a little slower, all the noise reduction on the
intake and exhaust systems has to restrict the air flow........the 05 I
looked at seemed to have a resonator built into the tailpipe!
If the 05's have pre-cats and a regular cat and a larger muffler with a
resonator in the tailpipe, the exhaust must look like a patatoe trying to
have kids!
The interior looks like a cheap knock off of the Ram interior, very spartan
and dull!

After you've driven a Gen-IV Dak...the HO 4.7L better be quicker than the
standard Gen-II 4.7L, they're slower than the Gen-III Dak's with the 4.7L
and not a big improvement (as claimed) witht eh interior.
