Yes and yes to your two questions. 318''s are internally balanced meaning
that you can take a 318 crank/rods/and pistons and they will operate
together
fine without vibration, blowing up, etc.

Your balancer is on the front of the motor. Let me preface my next answer
by
saying this applies to 92-95 trucks. E-mail me off list if you want to know

why '96 and up are different.

If you buy an unbalanced stroker kit for your truck, you cannot use your 318

harmonic balancer - you need a new one. You can't use your torque converter

as-is, you need to buy weights and have them welded on. If you have your
stroker kit internally balanced (also referred to as zero balancing), then
you can
bolt in and use all your 318 stuff as-is. Balancing is going to be in the
neighborhood of $300. IMHO, a modest amount relative to what you will spend
on a
motor build.
