Trailer hitch for roll pan

I have a '95 Dakota with a Sir Michaels roll pan. They only have a hitch for 97+ Daks to fit with the roll pan. Does anyone have a Sir Michaels roll pan on a pre 97 and using a trailer hitch with it? I'm sure there is a hitch out there that will fit with this roll pan.
