If you are looking for a tire for the street that will work in the snow for the
winter you will be much better off with a tire with an all-season road tread
than an All Terrain Tread.
My 89 Dakota 4x4 came with Wranglers and they were OK for everything but wet
roads. Since I kept wearing out 2 at a time I kept replacing them with like
tires until I had to replace 4 and at that point I was looking for the cheapest
tire I could get and wound up with a Cooper tire that had a all season street
tread. I couldn't believe how much smoother and quieter they were. Plus the
snow traction was much better than the all terrains and the wet road traction
was a huge improvement. My off roading is limited to the beach and the road
tread worked there better too.
I now have a road tread Michlien LT on my 99 Dakota in 13-10.5x15 and these are
a signnificant improvement over the Coopers (can't say how much the newer truck
adds to the equation).
Unless you really do off roading I would recomend a tire with a street tread
over an all terrain tire.
