I'm sure I've heard of a Detroit for the 8.25".

I also seem to recall someone telling me about putting a locker for a
D35 in the front diff of a Dakota after clearancing the housing.
Knowing personally of three of those housings that have come apart from
not overly wild abuse even in an unlocked state I'd probably not do
that to my truck, especially since it involved clearancing the already
apparently weak housing.
