I wouldn't call myself an expert and I wouldn't try that now without practicing
for a bit but anyone that uses a torch on a regular basis would be able to cut
the heads off the three rivits and have the ball joint seperated from the
control arm in a matter of seconds. If you are being paid flat rate being able
to get the job done in 1/2 the time can mean twice the money in your pay check.
Talking about experts with a torch; back in my repair shop days one of the guys
was good enough with a torch that he could burn a broken stud out of an exhaust
manifold without damaging the threads in the manifold.
