Try doing that on a Liberty...I wound up taking off the belt just to get to
it. I also had to use a jaw style wrench cause the regular wrench collapsed
the case and would not turn the filter.

It's really not hard to get a stuck oil filter off. All they had to do was
grab near the bottom of the filter (at the seam), rather than at the top
(soft casing). That's how we got it off...without too much effort.

Using the jaw-style filter wrenches isn't always the best as they have a
tendency to crush/gouge/cut the filter casing.

We have NO problems taking them off at all. (And that's with a standard oil
filter wrench.)

Bernd, You know what the root cause is don't you? It's the factory
installing the filter too tight, no excuse for what Jiffy Lube did but if
the filter was installed properly at the factory it wouldn't have
happened.<snip>
