Well to add fuel to the fire, I've always seen the overhead computer's
calculation off by 2-3 mpg's over a tank of gas. When I calculate it with a
good ole pen & paper (yeah, I can do it!) my 05 is getting about 18 mpg when
I'm sppeding into Chicago everyday Hehe... Kinda like the Blues Brothers!
The overhead computer thinks I'm getting 16!
I know the 05's are not too enviro-friendly, but I'm sure even a gen 2 5.2
would be worse when you look at the whole emissions picture. Not dissing the
gen2, but I do think it's cool that I'm getting the same mileage that my 3.9
got....and now I have more power! :)
If anyone really keeps an eye on fuel mileage, I put a K&N drop in into the
05 and picked up a good 1.5mpg's. But that gain seems to go bye-bye as the
accelerator creeps to the floor! :)
