changed at least one or two a day (Dakota/Durango). They've superseded
multiple times and now are at a totally different part number to boot!

I've only had to replace maybe two or three switches in the last two
years...can't count how many regulator motors though.

Subject: DML: '00 opwer window problem

I have a 2000 Dakota club cab that has developed an intermittent problem in
the driver's side power window. At first rarely, and now about half the
time, if I use the auto-down mode, the window will not go back up for 30
seconds to 2 minutes. After that time, it will act normally. If I stop it
before it goes all the way down by pushing the switch up, it always works.

This is NOT a good situation when you put the window down to enter your car
wash code - I speak from experience!

>From looking at the schematics, it appears that the motor has an
over-current self-resetting circuit breaker on it, and the switch has a
current-sensing circuit that is supposed to remove 'down' voltage when it
senses an increase in current - like when the motor stalls at the down stop.
My guess is either the motor c/b is overly sensitive, or the switch is not
sensitive enough.

The switch assembly is ~$40, and easy to change. The Motor/regulator is
~$90, and undoubtedly a pain in the a$$ to change. Has anyone ran into this
before? Does one part have more history of failing?

Thanks for any thoughts on the matter...
