Assuming you mean the EGR block-off....it renders the EGR non-functional.
;-) The only reasons I can think of for doing this is if the truck is for
off-road use only or the EGR valve is faulty and one doesn't want the
expense of replacing it. Since it operates by vacuum, it does not
function at WOT and is therefore not a detriment to performance.

If you meant "what does an EGR valve do?", then I'll suggest a Google search
as I don't have the time or energy to 'splain it. :-)

The early ones do but at some point they were discontinued. Someone else
will need to tell us when as I don't remember.
