Nope, clear the codes, you had the wires all messed up.
You are good to go now.

Subject: RE: DML: AAAAAARRRGGGHHH '99 Dak still running for ka ka
Yeah I am glad she is running decent again too. I was starting to worry a
little bit. I took it to AZ and she ran like a top there and back so I
think the problems are solved for now. They hooked up the scan tool, now I
am no expert on these, never used one before, she hooked it up it connected
and all and spit out a multi cylinder misfire code. The screen said 1 of 4
so I thought there were 4 more codes to display, she said no only one code.
So do you guys think I should wait to clear the codes (i.e. disconnect the
battery) until I take it back another day and see if I can get someone to
check it again if there are more codes? Otherwise I am clearing the codes
and shutting that damned check engine light off. I am almost certain there
were more codes because the check engine light was on long before the
misfire, when the cat started going REAL bad. On a side note I am a tad
disappointed with the sound from the Flowmaster cat back kit. It is nice
and mellow at idle but it is still too quiet! Of course I am used to the
Chevy with duals and some unknown brand cat back and the Mustang with the
Flowmaster American Thunder series, which, when conditions are right I can
set off car alarms with! Actually I think I will like the set after a while
since it will be nice to have something to cruise in that doesn't make your
ears ring when you get out! Plus she is still a little bit of a sleeper on
the street!
Thanks guys,
-Joe

-You might just want to disconnect your battery and reset your computer, but
-then AZ may be able to clear your codes if you take it there and that might
-be better. Glad you got it running!
