Champions were stock on my '99, so those were either the originals or
someone replaced them with the factory-spec part.
Sorry to say that yes, gap does matter and you wasted your money on the
plugs - people have tried a LOT of plugs 'round here and believe it or
not, for a stock application, Autolite 3924 or 3923s have come out on
top, gapped at .040. They'll run you a buck each at Wal-Mart.
