Is it a torx type or hex? I bet it is metric, the ones on the brake
calipers are, and definitely check that xfer case. You may have to put that
truck out of its misery if this keeps up....

Hey, DML!
Anybody know what size hex the drain/fill plugs in the forward tranny
housing are?
My stash of Allen wrenches from my machinist days appears to be lacking of
anything larger than 9/16"...
On THAT note, is it a metric hex?
Turns out it was the yoke seal & not the rear output shaft seal that crapped
out...
I got the yoke seal in, but I'm a tad reluctant to drive er too far without
making sure the tranny is full...
On THAT note (pattern developing here...), would it be the x-fer case that
leaked - seeing as the leak is at the rear of the tranny? Could the noise
(hummmmmmm) that I'm hearing even BE the x-fer case if it's not engaged?
Desperately in need of answers, BUT, I WILL pull the drain plug on the x-fer
case just to check, I KNOW I've had it out for a fluid change, so I MUST
have a tool somewhere that fits...
TIA,
