RE: wiper function

My wipers were very inconsistent. Intermittent delay would vary every time
it cycled and sometimes not work at all or be stuck on low. My first
instinct was the MF switch. Then it started making a loud noise and stopped
completely. A new motor solved my problems.

Subject: DML: wiper function

So, I remember a while back a few of you were talking about replacing the
"multifunction switch" to correct wiper function?

In a nutshell, what I have is erratic wiper function. If I turn on the
wipers (or use the washer fluid), sometimes the wipers make it all the way
back down and sometimes they stop in the middle of the windshield, etc. It
appears as though the wiper motor gets inconsistent power so sometimes it
just stops too soon or in the middle of the windshield.

I seem to remember this was the symptom of a bad multifunction switch -- is
that the case? Just want to have at least a reasonable clue before I order
one.

Thanks,

-Bill
