I finally fixed my speedometer that has caused so much grief. The K7
circuit (18GA Orange) carries 8V supply from the SBEC to the distributor
pickup and the speed sensor. I had high resistance from the SBEC to the
VSS. I opened up the factory harness and found green corrosion in the
splice. I replaced the corroded wires and the speedometer functions
perfectly. The truck also runs much better now that the SBEC knows the
vehicle speed.

I would not have been able to do this repair without the factory Shop
Manual. It's always the first thing I buy when I get a new vehicle. Hanes
and Chilton's are only good for starting fires.

Take Care.
