So very sorry to hear about your Grandfather Gary. Thanks for the good
advice and yes, maybe some good will come of it.

Subject: DML: Get Checked

I haven't been on much lately, and that is because for the past few
months my grandfather has been battling colon cancer and I have been by
his side with all the love and support I could give. But sadly, he lost
the battle last week. He was 76.

But the tragedy of this is that colon cancer is almost 100% treatable
when detected early. Unfortunately my grandfather was diagnosed after
it was too late. And to see him go through the pain and suffering that
the chemo and ultimately the cancer taking over, is something I would
never wish upon anyone. And to know that an early detection could have
changed this outcome only deepens my sorrow.

I implore everyone to take a good look around themselves, take a good
look at their lives and their families, and ask themselves if they
could survive without you. Colon cancer affects everyone, especially
men over 40. And it affects your fathers, your brothers, and your whole
family. Going into the doctors for a simple test pales in comparison to
the fate that my grandfather endured.

My grandfather always believed that something good could come out of
everything, even a tragedy. And if this message only brings in one
person who catches the polyp early and gets the treatment that will save
their lives, then his loss would not be for nothing.

treatable disease.
