There are two tags on the bolts holding the diff cover on, if they're still
there, I believe one will tell you the diff size and the other will tell you
the ratio. The ratios that you'd want to consider would be 3.55 or 3.92.
I've got a 3.55 that's a LSD but I don't know if they all have the LSD unit
in them. However, all of the 3.92 rear ends do have LSD units in them.

2wd trucks have the axle tube between the rear spring and the frame, 4wd
trucks have the axle tube below the spring. As long as you're going to swap
rear ends, why not see about looking for one from a 2003, some of them had
disc brakes in the rear. :drool:
