It's too bad that you've ruled out *any* BFG because of the poor
performance of one model. The A/T KO has an extra ply on the sidewall
(3 plies as opposed to 2 plies on most tires) for extra strength. My
father has 30K on his BFG A/T KOs that his '00 Durango wears and
still has lots of tread left. Until 2004, he was towing a 28' travel
trailer with it (which I'd wager weighs more than your Sami & trailer)
and part of the reason he chose those tires is their extra strength
for towing.
