All of the ones I've seen fold upwards.

If you're warping CDs there's something else at work. I usually run the heat
out of the dash vents, and even with the 140 degree air I'm getting now I've
not been able to warp a CD while it's inside my deck.

Just to the left of the head unit inside the dash there's a flex-hose that
brings air across to the vent on the left side of the cluster, perhaps this
has fallen off? It's not secured with anything, it just snaps over the end
of the plastic ductwork. That'd for sure cause it to get really hot inside
the dash. It's also easy to pull on by accident, it goes directly downward
to the HVAC box. I managed to knock it off a bunch of times when I was
reconnecting everything after putting the dash back together. I ended up
using some zipties to keep it secure.
